Delegates Today, Leaders Tomorrow
The Tenth Edition of The People’s Conference (PeCon), hosted by the PES MUN Society, unfolded on the 11th and 12th of October 2025 at the GJB Auditorium and seminar halls of PES University. With nearly 400 delegates from top institutions across India, PeCon 2025 reaffirmed its reputation as one of the country’s premier Model United Nations conferences.

A Tradition of Excellence, Elevated
Under the visionary leadership of Secretary-General GS Shreya and Director-General Chinmay D, PeCon 2025 introduced several enhancements to ensure a high-calibre experience. The Secretariat, supported by a dynamic Organising Committee, worked tirelessly for over two months to deliver a seamless and enriching event.

Prestigious Participation
Delegates hailed from institutions such as CMS Jain University, Ramaiah University, BMS College of Engineering, BMS College of Law, Kristu Jayanti University, University Law College, and Christ University, among others. Their presence added diversity and depth to the discussions across seven simulated committees.

Committees Simulated
PeCon 2025 featured a robust lineup of committees:

  • UNSC: Tackled the Democratic Republic of Congo crisis with double-delegation format.
  • DISEC: Debated territorial annexations, focusing on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
  • UNHRC: Explored digital privacy and surveillance as human rights issues.
  • UNODC: Addressed the role of technology and cryptocurrency in drug trafficking.
  • CCC: Simulated the Soviet-Afghan Conflict of 1979 in a fast-paced crisis format.
  • Lok Sabha: Discussed the role of religious institutions in India.
  • International Press Corps (IPC): Returned to document and report on all proceedings.

Each committee was led by seasoned MUN experts who ensured high-quality debates and resolutions.

A Distinguished Guest
PeCon 2025 was honoured to host Mr. N S Srinivasa Murthy, Honorary Consul of Vietnam, as the Chief Guest. His extensive experience in diplomacy and international affairs inspired delegates and elevated the level of discourse throughout the conference.

Behind the Scenes: The Organising Committee
The success of PeCon 2025 was made possible by a dedicated team of organisers. From logistics and outreach to design and equity, each member played a vital role. Notable contributors included:

  • Abhay Kumar – Chief Advisor
  • JV Shanmuga Teja – Head of Organising Committee
  • Samhita Rao – Head of Design
  • Subhangi Swain – Under Secretary-General for Equity

Their efforts ensured that PeCon 2025 was not just an event, but an experience.

Celebrating Excellence
The conference concluded with accolades and recognition. BMS College of Law was awarded Best Delegation, a testament to their outstanding performance across committees.

A Legacy Continued
PeCon 2025 was more than a conference—it was a celebration of youth leadership, diplomacy, and collaboration. As the PES MUN Society looks ahead, this edition sets a high benchmark for future conferences, continuing the legacy of shaping “Delegates Today, Leaders Tomorrow.”
