As part of the global observance of World Population Day 2025, the Department of Community Medicine, PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, organized an impactful awareness program on July 19, 2025, at Birla Aditya HINDALCO Company, Kuppam. The event began at 10:15 AM and was led by Dr. Chitra Nagaraj (Professor & HOD) and Dr. Anil R (Associate Professor). The session focused on educating the public about population trends and the importance of family planning in making informed and responsible reproductive choices. With the theme "Empowering young people to create the families they want in a fair and hopeful world," the program encouraged participants to reflect on their role in shaping healthier communities. Undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Department of Community Medicine actively participated in organizing and delivering the session. By the end of the event, participants demonstrated greater awareness and engagement. The initiative successfully promoted education and empowerment, in alignment with global public health goals.
