The Department of General Surgery at PESUIMSR, Electronic City, conducted a week-long Oral and Lung Cancer Screening Camp from May 26th to 30th, 2025, under the leadership of Dr. Rohit Krishnappa.
Over 50 patients were screened, with services including consultations with onco-surgeons, video-laryngoscopy, chest X-rays, sputum cytology, and blood tests. Selected minor surgical procedures were performed free of charge (excluding consumables), with discounted rates for advanced diagnostics like bronchoscopy and CT thorax.
An awareness session on May 28th featured expert talks by Dr. Radheshyam Naik (Senior Consultant, Medical Oncology, HCG Cancer Centre), who emphasized early detection and treatment trends, and Dr. Vinod Ramani (Preventive Oncologist), who spoke on lifestyle-related cancer risks and preventive strategies.
The screening week formed part of the institute’s ongoing community outreach and preventive healthcare programs.
