A live demonstration of the WHO-recommended 7-step hand washing technique for the community highlighted how clean hands are the first line of defense against infections, from the flu to foodborne illnesses. The session emphasized critical moments for hand hygiene, such as before eating, after using the toilet, and after handling waste. The interaction was a step towards instilling the importance of cleanliness as a culture. The Clean Hands, Healthy Lives: Hand Hygiene Day at Gottigere for the community was conducted by the Urban Health Training Centre team of Department of Community Medicine of PESUIMSR on May 5, 2025 at Gottigere Primary Health Centre.
