PES University in collaboration with KUKA Robotics inaugurated the Automation and Robotics Center (ARC) at its Electronic City Campus, a cutting-edge facility aimed at transforming engineering education through hands-on learning in advanced automation, robotics, and smart manufacturing technologies.
The ARC Center, established with support from KUKA Robotics and industry partners, is designed to serve as a hub for interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and industry collaboration. It will equip students with practical skills in robotics integration, industrial automation, and system-level design, preparing them for emerging roles for Industry 4.0.
In his Presidential remarks, Prof. Jawahar Doreswamy, Chancellor, PES University said that ARC is a major step towards integrating industry-grade technologies to enhance student learning experience. He emphasized on the university’s mission to produce graduates with sound academics coupled with hands-on experience and make them Industry ready so that they become productive upon joining.
Mr. Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and Chief Guest of the occasion highlighted the growing demand for skilled engineers in core manufacturing and automation sectors. He lauded the efforts of PES University and KUKA for proactively building platforms like ARC that bring together academia, industry, and innovation under one roof.
Mr. Reinhold Gross, CEO of KUKA Robotics India, along with members of KUKA’s leadership teams from India and Malaysia, were present at the event. Mr. Grass expressed KUKA’s strong belief in the power of academia-industry partnerships to build the next generation of automation leaders and reaffirmed KUKA’s commitment to supporting skills-based learning in Indian universities.
Leadership team from PES University Dr. J Suryaprasad, Vice Chancellor, Prof. K S Sridhar Registrar, Prof. Nagarjuna Sadineni Pro Vice Chancellor and senior faculty members were present along with KUKA leadership team from Malysia and India.
The event was well attended by a host of industry leaders, faculty and students from PES University.
The setting up of ARC Center marks a significant milestone in PES University's skills-focused education approach and sets a new benchmark for industry-integrated engineering programs in the country.
