Dr. Uma Shankar S, Head of Epidemiology and Research Division, Senior Chief Medical Officer, SAG, National Tuberculosis Institute, Bengaluru provided comprehensive insights into the latest NTEP guidelines, the integration of advanced diagnostic tools such as CBNAAT and TrueNat, updated treatment protocols, and strategies for managing drug-resistant tuberculosis. He emphasized the significance of community-based interventions, including active case detection and contact tracing in strengthening TB control measures. The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Dimple Ann Dias. Dr. Sridevi N S, Vice Principal, extended a warm welcome to the guest speaker. Dr. Sudeepa D, Head of Department of Community Medicine, delivered a formal introduction of the esteemed guest. Dr. Uma Shankar was felicitated by Dr. Manjunath B G, Medical Superintendent and Dr. Nagendra Prasad, Vice Principal. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Priyadarshini S. The Department of Community Medicine at PESUIMSR organized the distinguished guest lecture on February 14, 2025, addressing recent updates in the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP).
