Staying current on preventing cyber attacks

Cyber Byte discussion series takes up the topic of a recent cyber attack each week and tries to understand the mechanism of attack and preempting them. The ransomware attack on United Health group data breach by Black hat, a Russian-linked cybercrime organization named and also how Lock bit hit London drugs organization was explored. In another session Dark web marketplace, Incognito closure and Malware with DDoS attacks on Power Grid were discussed. Debates on social engineering attacks and cyber-attacks were held. Uber Security Breach, The Mirai Botnet and how a teen scammer almost brought down the internet and ticket data breach were discussed. Other topics included solar winds supply chain attack, change healthcare attack, midnight blizzard attack, OKTA supply chain attack and Marriott Data Breach. The Cyber Byte weekly interactive discussions on the above topics related to cyber attacks were organized by Center for Computer Networks and Cyber Security at EC campus in June-July 2024.
