Dr. Porobić, researcher at the University College, London and visiting professor at the University of Oxford, UK and the University of Rijeka, Croatia spoke on contemporary challenges to asylum laws. Dr. Porobić discussed the conditions for granting asylum to refugees, emphasizing the legal obligations of nation-states to adhere to international law and prevent refugees from returning to conflict zones. She highlighted the need for easing procedures due to the lack of a standardized asylum provision process, emphasizing the need for a more streamlined approach to reintegration of refugees into their home countries. The Faculty of Law hosted Dr. Selma Porobić on August 9, 2024 at RR campus.
