Dr. Deepak Vohra, Special Advisor in Africa, outlined a compelling vision for India’s future titled Viksit Bharat at 2047: The Runway is Open. He emphasized India’s immense potential to become a developed nation by 2047, fuelled by innovation, infrastructure advancements, and a skilled workforce. Dr. Vohra highlighted the positive indicators in the areas of economy, infrastructure, and technology. He observed that the country clocked an annual growth rate of 8.2% and a thriving securities exchange that surpassed USD 5 trillion. He highlighted that electricity has reached nearly all households, safe drinking water reached a significant portion of rural areas, and rapid sanitation and financial inclusion initiatives with toilets were built every two seconds, and new bank accounts opened every two seconds. He was all praise for Chandrayaan 3 mission and its record-breaking satellite launches that showcase our technological prowess. He shared the pride in India’s as the fourth-largest economy attracts substantial foreign direct investment and houses the third highest number of billionaires. The Faculty of Management Studies hosted the interactive session with ambassador Dr. Deepak Vohra, Special Advisor in Africa at RR campus on June 13, 2024.
