The 10th International Yoga Day was celebrated on the University’s Campus on June 21st, 2024. Students, faculty, and staff of the University had assembled in large numbers.

Prof. M. R. Doreswamy, Hon’ble Chancellor in his message conveyed to all stakeholders that Yoga is an essential component from both Physical and Mental wellness perspectives.  This day underscores the benefits of practicing yoga, promoting holistic well-being for the mind, body, and spirit. Especially for students, YOGA rejuvenates their minds. He quoted in his message a study carried out by Harvard Medical School which states that yoga strengthens parts of the brain that play a key role in memory, attention, awareness, thought, and language thereby reducing stress and anxiety.

The entire Yoga Day was organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports.

To add a feather for the occasion, PES University also celebrated the International Music Day for Music by melodious songs sung by the students of the Performing Arts Department. In all, over 1200 members participated in the program.
