The 24-hour hackathon focused on tackling challenges related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The participating teams developed innovative solutions that fostered inclusive workplaces, promoting the well-being and advancement of underrepresented groups like women, minorities, and LGBTQIA+ individuals in organizations. The workshop on design thinking process led by the Mr. Chella Pandian Pitchai, global head of DEI at Biocon Biologics, guided participants through each stage of the design thinking process, equipping them with the tools and frameworks to translate abstract ideas into concrete solutions that address real-world DEI challenges. Through interactive exercises and discussions, participants learned to approach problems with empathy, think creatively, and develop innovative solutions. Mr. Pitchai led the session on storytelling that explored the power of narrative in crafting compelling pitches that resonate with audiences. Participants learned how to weave data and facts into stories that not only inform but also inspire action. These workshops prepared the participants for tackling the provided problem statements and developing innovative solutions that promote a more inclusive future. One of the teams built a prototype app for addressing digital inequality, providing access to technology for all demographics, and measures to combat this divide. Another team highlighted the importance of building inclusive policies, programs, and spaces to support the mental health and well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals, thus addressing challenges such as stigma and social isolation. Another team discussed how community programs could be implemented to address socioeconomic inequalities and promote economic empowerment for marginalized groups. This team emphasized the importance of planning a course of action to chart the solution and drive the desired change, covering aspects from microfinance to raising awareness. Another team stressed the need to accelerate development at all levels and increase  the representation of women on corporate boards while promoting the growth of women-led businesses. Another team highlighted the importance of addressing digital illiteracy, recognizing it as a barrier to inclusion. Another team focused on amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups through media and entertainment, presenting it as a way to challenge stereotypes and initiate change from the grassroots level. DEI 360 - Back To Hack! Ideathon was organized by the Faculty of Management and Commerce, Centre of Excellence in Learning and Development in collaboration with Rotary Youth Leadership Awards  (RYLA), and Biocon Biologics on April 19-20, 2024 at RR campus.
