ANTHAH PRERANA 2022 ENTREPRENEURSHIP SYMPOSIUM

PES University organized Entrepreneurship Symposium Anthah Prerana held on June 30 & July 1, 2022.

It was a great honour for PES University for having the Honourable chief guest his Excellency Dr. K Sudhakar - Minister for health and family welfare and medical education, Government of Karnataka in PES Campus held on 1 st July 2022.

Speaking on the occasion he expressed his thanks to Chancellor Dr. M R Doreswamy, Vice-chancellor Dr. J Surya prasad, and Dean Dr. S. Haridas for inviting him to the campus to address the students. He continued the speech by saying that he believes in connecting the dots. Though he did wonder why the University invited a doctor to a management program related to entrepreneurship skills he stated that both administration and management are required in any kind of profession. He also added that all successful entrepreneurs did not become one overnight as it requires days, months, and years to build an enterprise.

Addressing the gathering, he mentioned that one must have belief in oneself to realize their dreams. He gave the example of a kid who falls several times while learning to bicycle. The father loses hopes; however, the mother is confident of the child to succeed in learning and beliefs in the child and encourages him. He also took the example of Usain Bolt and many such great dignitaries, entrepreneurs who failed several times to succeed in life. He indeed motivated the students to use management and technology for achieving success.

Dr. M R Doreswamy, Chancellor of the university speaking about Dr. K Sudhakar remembered his contributions in tackling the issues during the pandemic time. He praised Dr K Sudhakar by stating that he is also an entrepreneur who conducted a mega camp where there were 2 Lakhs of patients, Thousands of nurses, and hundreds of Doctors in Chikkaballapura, his hometown. He said how MBA and entrepreneurship go hand in hand. He also mentioned that he carries N R Narayan Murthy’s book titled Better India better world where ever he goes, which states that a college should train their students as job creators and not as job seekers. He also appreciated Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative on the concept of Start-ups at the national level which is bringing a lot of importance to the life of future entrepreneurs.

Dr. M R Doreswamy said that PES University has established entrepreneurship cell on campus to encourage the students come up with innovative ideas to begin a start-up. He also mentioned that the university will fund. Such start-ups, to the extent of providing INR 1,00,00,000 to encourage the students into an entrepreneurial trend of mind.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. J Surya Prasad thanked Dr. K Sudhakar for accepting this invitation from PES University. He also stated that he gained a lot of knowledge from Dr. K Sudhakar in a short conversation about Technology and the equipment, our country has now compared to the old technology we had in past, to be in its present position among all other countries. He concluded by stating that the holistic view of the economy can be seen only by having the right entrepreneurs in the country.

Dr. Shailashree Haridas, Dean-Faculty of Management and Commerce thanked Dr K Sudhakar for accepting this invitation and gracing the occasion. Dr K S Sridhar, Registrar, Dr V Krishna Dean- Student Affairs, Faculty and Students of PES University was present. The event Anthah Prerana was inaugurated by Prof. D Jawahar, Pro-Chancellor, PES University held on 30 th June 2022. Honourable guest Dr. Ajay Kumar, Defence Secretary,GOI graced the occasion virtually.
