PES University celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava today through keeping a talk by chief guest, who is a well known theatre artist, director and author Sri Babu Hirannaiah as well as the release of a translated book ‘Vishnupriyadevi’ by Professor G. Sathyanarayana. After hoisting a flag, Sri Hirannaiah spoke on how we could express our love and respect for kannada language through talking, sharing with non kannadigas and reading kannada books and papers. He also said that we can’t make others to learn Kannada through force, but talking and respecting the other culture and language. Mr. Upadhyaya spoke on the Vishnupriyadevi and how it represents a culture and tradition of Indian society of the medieval period. The program was started with a welcome speech by Dr. V. Krishna, Dean of Student Affairs, PES University. After the release of the book, the chief guest Sri Hirannaiah and Professor Sathyanarayana were felicitated. Prof. Hareesh Ugraiah, Head of Department, Bachelors of Business Administration rendered a vote of thanks. Afterwards, few cultural teams of PES University entertained the audience with cultural events.
