Dr M R Doreswamy graces convocation of Jain Vishva Bharathi Institute

The twelfth convocation of Jain Vishva Bharathi Institute conferred degrees in the presence of his holiness Acharya Mahashraman Anushashta in Bangalore. In his speech the venerable saint said that education must enlighten us and lead to liberation. He said that education must instill the values of harmony and morality to help build a healthy society. Speaking on the occasion Dr M R Doreswamy, Chancellor, PES University congratulated the graduating students on their successful completion of the course. He said that humanism and Jainism are synonymous. He expressed the confidence that Vishva Bharathi Institute has prepared the students to become a Vishva Manava, responsible global citizens. He observed that education must provide path for living and liberation. He felt fortunate for being in the midst of living and liberation and among two great saints, one who instills the art of living His Holiness Sri RaviShankar guruji and one who instills the art of liberation, His Holiness Acharya Mahashraman). As a representative of PES University, he saw Peace, Education and Service pervading the Jain Vishva Bharathi Institute under the guidance of Acharya Mahashraman. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Guruji, of Art of Living, in his address said that Jainism emphasizes nonviolence as a path that leads to liberation. Sri Sadananda Gowda, Hon’ble Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers said that non-violence against humans as well as against all other creatures is one of the fundamental contributions of Jainism to world philosophy.
