The students of PES University are proud winners of three awards in the YuvaratnaNXT, 2017 national competition. The awards are constituted to inspire budding architects to imaginatively present ideas from a range of versatile products manufactured by Birla White. Over 400 entries from around the world were submitted. The theme for this year was: Indian festivals and culture. The challenge was to design a wall surface of size six feet by four feet size in a novel way using Birla White cement and its value added products such as Levelplast, textura and GRC. Second and fourth semester architecture students won the first prize, third prize and the judges’ appreciation award. The assessment criteria included concept, composition, aesthetics, theme, originality of idea and finally the innovative usage of Birla White materials. The designs were highly appreciated for their unique and practically implementable solutions.
