S Sonika Nair is an Assistant Professor of Law with over seven years of academic and industry experience in the field of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). She is currently pursuing her PhD at Christ University, Bengaluru, with a research focus on the protection of foodstuffs under Geographical Indications law. Prior to her academic career, she practiced as a legal associate with a leading IP firm, gaining hands-on experience in trademark litigation, filings, and advisory. Sonika has presented papers at national and international forums and has published in areas intersecting IP, traditional knowledge, and sustainability. She is passionate about legal research, innovation policy, and mentoring the next generation of IP professionals.
