Dr. Bhaskarjyoti Das

My primary passion is grooming young minds and making them realize their own possibilities. I enjoy building competency (knowledge, process, mindset). I have been primarily an educator and a researcher. I am focused on all aspects of AI/ML and its applications and is one of the founding members of Dept of CSE (AI & ML) in PES University. As a research guide, I participate actively instead of providing just executive guidance. Starting 2017, I have so far guided around 150+ UG students and 3 PG students for their final year thesis. I have worked for 26+ years first in government R&D and then in industry in various roles in all parts of the product life cycle i.e. consulting, professional services, and engineering. I have worked both in system software and application software in diverse domains i.e. networking, finance and automobile. My management experience has been mostly in product engineering and change management in engineering organizations. Curiosity, constant learning, and embracing changes are my key values. What I carry forward into the current academic setup are my management training, deep and broad exposure to industry (services and products), and ability to spot as well as mentor high-performers and lead from the front. Through the years, I developed a keen interest in the macro patterns instead of the corporate ladder and willingly experimented with roles and domains to satisfy my curiosity.
