The session with the theme of Prioritize Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems focused on encouraging mothers and families to prioritize breastfeeding while highlighting the need for continuous support from healthcare providers and communities. Participants were educated about the early initiation of breastfeeding, the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, and the need to continue breastfeeding up to two years and beyond along with appropriate complementary feeding. Special emphasis on the benefits of colostrum, also known as the baby’s first vaccine, due to its high nutrient and antibody content addressed common myths, challenges, and solutions related to breastfeeding. As part of World Breastfeeding Week from August 1-7, 2025, the health education session was conducted at the Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC) by the Department of Community Medicine, PESIMSR.
