The birth anniversary of legendary Srinivasa Ramanujan was observed with Mathematics themed competitions: Brahmagupta’s Brain Teaser quiz competition on mathematics, aptitude, and logical reasoning; Bhaskara’s Canvas: Beyond Equations, poster making and presentation competition themed Playing with Math; Shakuntaladevi’s Oration Stage competition in which students delivered a lecture on topics of their choice in mathematics and Aryabhata’s Secret Expedition, a team-based treasure hunt. The keynote speaker, Dr. Sreeram, an alumnus and Lead Senior Engineer at Qualcomm, delivered an insightful talk on the role of Mathematics in Wireless Technologies, inspiring students to explore mathematical innovations. Prof. Nagarjuna Sadineni, Prof. Subhas Kulkarni, and Prof. Ajey graced the event. The Department of Science and Humanities at PES University in collaboration with the Center of Excellence in Applied Mathematics (CEAM), celebrated National Mathematics Day after a series of pre-event competitions held during December 4-11 on December 20, 2024, at EC campus.
