The members of the Managing Committee of People’s Education Society (the sponsoring body of PES University) during the Meeting held on 17th March 2025 at People’s Education Society, 50 Feet Road, Hanumanthangar, Bangalore – 560050 have resolved to unanimously appoint Prof. Jawahar Doreswamy as the subsequent Chancellor of the PES University. The Hon’ble Chancellor will assume office from March 21, 2025. A brief profile of the Hon’ble Chancellor is presented in the subsequent paragraphs.
A strong advocate for Total Quality Education, Prof. Jawahar Doreswamy has spearheaded efforts to enhance the academic experience, with a particular focus on Key Performance Indicator-based management and benchmarking. His initiatives have led to the creation of several Centers of Excellence, including the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and PESU Venture Labs, providing students with cutting-edge opportunities to develop and apply their skills.
His dedication to recognizing and rewarding merit has also been a cornerstone of his leadership. Since 1991, over 10,000 students have benefited from more than 100 Crores in scholarships, a testament to his belief in empowering talented students. This focus on student success has made PES an aspirational institution for learners nationwide.
Prof. Jawahar Doreswamy holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Bangalore University and a Master of Science from Texas A&M University, USA. His vision and relentless pursuit of quality have not only solidified PES's stature but also ensured its continued growth and relevance in the country's competitive landscape of higher education.
