The core objectives of the Centre for Languages and International Cooperation (CLIC) at PES University are to develop internationalisation pathways for the institution, with a focus on international collaborations, mobility and opening up opportunities for further studies, and enhancing the global skillsets of its graduates. Languages and culture play an important role in creating and supporting internationalisation initiatives at CLIC. Towards this end, quality language programs and projects will be designed to facilitate student engagement at multiple levels. In the first stage, language courses, starting with French and German, will be offered as certificate programs, which students typically undertake after their study hours and outside of their curriculum. The goal for the second stage is to expand the pool of language offerings and include them within the university curriculum alongside the certificate courses. Further, the certificate courses will be gradually opened up to the general public. At the inaugural event Prof. Terry Lamb Professor of Languages and Interdisciplinary Pedagogy at the University of Westminster, London was introduced by Prof. Rahul Putty. Prof. Terry Lamb spoke on the subject of creative pedagogy. Welcome address and thoughts by Pro-Chancellor Prof. D Jawahar set the tone for the engaging event marking the inauguration of Centre for Languages & International Cooperation held on January 6, 2025.
