PES University hosts 3rd International Conference on Data, Decision, and Systems (ICDDS’24) in association with IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter.
The conference established a platform for fostering dialogue between academia and industry, providing a space to share groundbreaking insights and tackle complex challenges in the world of research spread over 3 days from 5th to 7th December, 2024. The Conference included Expert-led Industry sessions, visionary keynote addresses, invited talks and pioneering research presentations and a panel discussion, each carefully curated to inspire and enlighten the attendees. Being a flagship event of the IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter, hosted jointly by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, PES University attracted renowned Academicians, Industry leaders, and budding innovators from across the globe.
The Inaugural event of the conference was presided over by Prof. Jawahar Doreswamy, Pro Chancellor of PES University, who emphasized the University's commitment to fostering research and innovation and highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia and industry to address real-world challenges and drive technological advancements. Dr. T. Srinivas, Professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Chair of the IEEE Bangalore Section 2024, graced the event as the esteemed Chief Guest, sharing invaluable insights on the role of cutting-edge research in shaping the future of technology.
Dr. Vishwas Lakkundi, Chair of the IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter (2020-21), and Dr. D.N. Sujatha, Chair of the IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter (2024), who brought their expertise to the fore, discussing the transformative role in Technology and Industry. The dignitaries included Dr. K. S. Sridhar, Registrar, PESU and Dr. B. K. Keshavan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, PESU, Dr. Sudarshan T.S.B, Dean, Research, PESU. The winners' prize for the hackathons Hackee’24 and Silicon Rush 2.0 were announced by Dr. Venugopal N., Organizing Chair of ICDDS'24 and Professor in the Department of EEE, PES University. The event was anchored by Prof. Sindhu R. Pai, Organizing Secretary of ICDDS'24, from the Department of Computer Science Engineering, PES University.
ICDDS’24 was structured around three core tracks, each highlighting a different facet of DDS:
1. Foundational Research – Focused on theoretical advancements.
2. Systems Research – Exploring innovative architectures and frameworks.
3. Applications – Featuring real-world use cases and implementations across industries.
Participants including researchers, engineers, and start-up representatives, shared their ground-breaking work on topics such as artificial intelligence, big data, machine learning, and decision-making systems. The conference reiterated PES University’s standing as a hub for academic and technological excellence, fostering interdisciplinary research and collaboration with global organizations like IEEE. ICDDS’24 concluded on a high note, reinforcing its status as a premier forum for thought leadership and inspiring future innovations to shape a smarter, more connected world.
