The inauguration ceremony was graced by Chief Guests, Dr. Vishal Rao, Regional Director, Head-Neck Surgical Oncology and Robotic Surgery, HCG, Bangalore, and Dr. B.S. Chandrashekar, Chairman and Managing Director, Cutis Group, Bangalore. Dr. Suresh Krishnamurthy, Medical Director of PESIMSR, Kuppam, presided over the function. The dignitaries on the dais also included Dr. H.R. Krishna Rao, Dean & Principal, PESIMSR, Kuppam, and Dr. Subramanya N K, Medical Superintendent, PESIMSR, Kuppam. Dr. Ryali, Vice Principal (Academics), Dr. Hareesh, Vice Principal (Administration), Dr. Abhirami, Principal of Nursing Programmes, and Dr. Bijish, Principal of Allied Health Sciences and Physiotherapy, all Heads of Departments, faculty members, newly admitted students, and their parents, attended the programme. Dr. H.R. Krishna Rao delivered the welcome address, expressing his delight in welcoming the newly admitted students and their parents to the PES family. Dr. Ryali introduced the vision of PESIMSR and highlighted the facilities provided to the students. Dr. B.S. Chandrashekar emphasized the significance of medical education and Dr. Vishal Rao spoke on the evolving role of doctors, particularly in the context of pre- and post-COVID challenges. Dr. Suresh Krishnamurthy guided the students on effective time management and the importance of the five "P' Mantras Passion, Plan of Action, Perseverance, Personal Health, and Physical Health. As part of the ceremony, the Prathibha Puraskaram awards and medals were presented to the students of the 2023-24 batch who secured distinction in the university examinations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Subramanya N K, Medical Superintendent, PESIMSR, Kuppam. The inauguration ceremony of the 23rd Batch of MBBS for the academic year 2024-25 at PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Research was held on October 16, 2024, at the Kuppam campus.
