Architecture PESU RR Campus

Students of architecture assessed the proposed site's topography and environment for sustainable and contextually appropriate design solutions. The visit explored the cultural and architectural influences from nearby Janapada Loka for potential incorporation into the school design. The students evaluated the relationship between the existing government school and the new site to foster community and educational continuity. The visit helped students to understand the social, economic, and cultural factors in a rural context to inform a design that is both functional and culturally sensitive. The analysis by students highlighted opportunities for sustainable and culturally responsive design. The proposed design approach incorporated elements of local heritage, inspired by the proximity to Janapada Loka. The students learnt that strategic integration of the new school with the existing government school is key to enhancing educational offerings in the area. The student inferred that a design proposal that is sensitive to the local community's cultural and educational needs, ensuring relevance and sustainability would be ideal. As part of the Design course, the visit to a proposed site for a rural secondary school adjacent to a government school and Janapada Loka in Bangalore on August 26, 2024 was organized by the department of Architecture.
