Surgical competence relies on appropriate clinical knowledge, good technical ability and a high standard of non-technical skills. Prof Rohit Krishnappa, HoD, General Surgery and Dr Gopal.S, Professor of General Surgery, participated in the masterclass on non-technical skills for surgeons, an initiative of Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology in collaboration with The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh organized by Sakra World Hospitals. Subject matter experts from Malaysia and India trained a chosen few senior surgeons in this edition. The surgical team intends to incorporate training on non-technical skills for surgeons in the post graduate curriculum of PES medical programs.
