The Department of ECE felicitated Ms Annapurna Singh and Mr. Shashi Kumar, Alumni of the department on successfully clearing the IAS and IFS civil services exams, 2023 with top ranks in a program held on May 31, 2024, on the University campus.

Dr. Anuradha M, Professor in the department while introducing Mr. Shashikumar S.L said that hailing from a poor family from the quiet town of Madhugiri, Karnataka, Shashi Kumar etched his dreams, with a sense of determination in pursuit of excellence.

Prof. Dr. Chandar T. S introduced Ms. Annapurna Singh as a high morals and ethics student who always topped in the class while studying at the University.

Sharing his journey of success Shashi Kumar said that his never-give-up attitude saw him see his dream come true. He said that he had to go through ordeals wherein he lost the exams repeatedly with small margins. His relentless pursuit yielded him fruits for all the hard work that he put in.

An elated Annapurna Singh speaking on her success said that she embarked on a career as a Semiconductor Engineer at Intel, where she immersed herself in the world of technology. However, she was driven by a desire to make a difference in the lives of others which is when she decided to pursue a career in civil services. It was this desire that was rooted in her since the age of 12 she shared that her ultimate ambition to become an IAS officer had come true.

The Vice-Chancellor congratulated the achievers on their success and asked them to motivate more students on the campus to take up civil services as their career.

The Pro-Chancellor in his address commended the achievers on their success and said that it was very inspiring to listen to their successful journey and asked them to share their experiences with all University students. He also announced that in the coming year training for civil services will be started on the campus so that students interested can take the benefit.

The event saw the participation of Faculty and students along with the Registrar, Deans, and Chairpersons.
