Krutharth M C, student of semester IV, ECE RR Campus and his teammate Lucas Rao from Germany clinched first position in Drone Champions League for their team China Dragons Racing. This was the first real life large scale race conducted after the pandemic and had an audience of seventeen thousand. Six out of eight teams were shortlisted to participate in this race after qualifying in the online rounds in the simulator. The top two pilots from each team were selected to represent their respective team in the real-life race in Abu Dhabi. Krutharth was selected to represent his team China Dragons Racing and his country in this race. The race consisted of each pilot maneuvering the drones through an obstacle course in the fastest time possible. The total time taken by each team to complete four rounds decided the winner. Drone Champions League (DCL) conducted a high-speed drone race in the pitlane of the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi on April 27, 2024.
