The Department of Physical Education & Sports held the awards ceremony on 6th May 2024 for students who participated and won in the inter-department sports fest-Campus Challenge.
The Chief Guest for the evening was Mr. Nitish K, IAS, Joint Secretary of the Finance Department, Government of India. He plays a key role in the management of State finances and the preparation of the state budget.
Mr. Nitish, a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering is also an alumnus of PESIT, he secured an ALL INDIA RANK 8 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2014. addressing the achievers at the event he said that what students learn in the University over a stay of 3-4 years will determine their future for the next 30 to 40 years. He advised the students to make the best use of the facilities made available at the university for a bright future.
Mr. Nitish is an avid athlete and sportsperson. He secured 3 gold medals in Inter-Services Athletics held in Mussoorie and was the captain of the IAS volleyball team in the academy. Mr. Nitish continues to play cricket and Table tennis during his spare time.
On the occasion, felicitated 8 outstanding achievers in sports with a cash prize of Rs.10,000/- to Encourage and Support them.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. J. Suryaprasad, Vice Chancellor of PES University, Dr. K. S. Sridhar, Registrar of PES University, Dr. V. Krishna, Student Dean of Affairs, and Mr.Vinay M S, Director of Sports along with all physical education directors, students of winning teams, staff and students of BBA Sports Management.
ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ 'ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್ ಚಾಲೆಂಜ್' 2024 ರ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಸಮಾರಂಭ
ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು 6ನೇ ಮೇ 2024 ರಂದು ಅಂತರ್ - ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಉತ್ಸವ 'ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್ ಚಾಲೆಂಜ್' ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಗೆದ್ದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪ್ರದಾನ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಆ ಸಂಜೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಹಣಕಾಸು ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಜಂಟಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ.ನಿತೀಶ್.ಕೆ, ಐಎಎಸ್, ಅವರು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹಣಕಾಸು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಬಜೆಟ್ ತಯಾರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಶ್ರೀ.ನಿತೀಶ್, ಬಿ.ಇ. ಇಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾನಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕಮ್ಯುನಿಕೇಶನ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದ, ಪಿಇಎಸ್ಐಟಿಯ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು 3-4 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ವಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆಯೋ ಅದು ಮುಂದಿನ 30 ರಿಂದ 40 ವರ್ಷಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಅವರ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಗುವ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸದುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಉಜ್ವಲ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ರೂಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೀಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ 8 ಸಾಧಕರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಧನವಾಗಿ ರೂ.10,000/- ನಗದು ಬಹುಮಾನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುಲಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ.ಜೆ.ಸೂರ್ಯಪ್ರಸಾದ್, ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುಲ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಡಾ.ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ಶ್ರೀಧರ್, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವ್ಯವಹಾರಗಳ ಡೀನ್ ಡಾ.ವಿ.ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ.ವಿನಯ್ ಎಂ.ಎಸ್. ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು, ವಿಜೇತ ತಂಡಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಮತ್ತು BBA ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
