PES Polytechnic, Bangalore has organized an event IDEATHON-2024 in PES University, on Sunday 7th April 2024 on the topic of ‘efficient management of water’. More than 120 students from various Polytechnics of Bangalore have participated in this event to present their innovative ideas to solve the water problem of Bengaluru.

Kum. Punya Chandrashekhar, Kum. Manasvini and Sri Sai Krishna Sharma of 4th Semester Computer Science students of PES Polytechnic won the first prize for their idea for an IOT-based water management system that will detect the leakage and help in reducing the leakage of water.

Sri Nitesh Kumar, Sri Suman KT, and Sri Manoj Kumar from the 4th Semester Mechanical Engineering students of PES Polytechnic bagged the second prize for their idea on Pervious concrete for subway roads and interior roads in the apartment complex.

The third prize is won by Sri Yashwanth, Sri Balaji, and Sri Dhanush of Civil Engineering of East West Polytechnic for their working model on groundwater recharging systems. The teams won Rs. 15000, Rs. 12000 and Rs. 9000 respectively.

Prof.  M.V. Sathyanarayana, Director, Hanumantha Nagar PES Campus distributed the cash prize to all the winners.

Dr. M.R. Doreswamy, Honourable Chancellor of PES University appreciated the young winners for their contribution.
