Team WEAL of PES University organized a 24-hour hackathon called 'Health Hack 2.0'. The objective of the hackathon is to enhance awareness of health and find solutions to the problems faced. Students get to learn and develop a sense of responsibility, leadership, and time management skills. 30 teams from various departments participated in the hackathon, led by student leaders Priyanshu Agarwal and Rachit Singla, and curated by Dr. Vijendra Kumar, Faculty Coordinator.

The first prize was won by the team of Vishnu Bharadwaj, Navya Tayi, and Shubha from the 8th Semester Electronics and Communication Engineering. They developed a prototype, which can mimic the notion of a healthy limb onto the injured limb thereby promoting faster recovery of the injured limb after an accident or injury.

The second prize was won by a team of students, Nandita G, Keerthi Abeestitha Lakshmi Shettar, and Spoorthi Gaddi, from the second-semester Electronics and Communication Engineering. The team had developed an SOS button in a smartwatch that can communicate with the medical practitioners and families of the patient during emergency health issues away from home.

The team of Ayush Mishra, Abhiram Prasanna, Ashish Sharma, and Divyansh Sharma came up with a model that helps in the early detection of depression with personalized solutions using audio, video, text, and questionnaire-based testing, which won the third prize in the Hackathon. Renowned doctors and start-up founders were the judges for the event.

Dr. M. R. Doreswamy, Honourable Chancellor of PES University congratulated the winners on their achievement.
