Guest Lecture on Gender Equality

The speakers Sana Suman, a transgender human rights activist and founding member of Swatantra Organisation, and Archana K, counselor and mentor at Banjara Academy shared insights about the complexities and struggles faced by the people belonging to the LGBTQI+ community and emphasized on the importance of equity. The students of psychology learnt how to approach the matters of the community with utmost sensitivity and empathy in the context of mental healthcare. The interaction helped the students to explore nuanced perspectives and enhanced their understanding of the experiences of transgender individuals in a supportive learning environment. The Department of Psychology organized the guest lecture on Gender Equality for All: Equality, Diversity and Mental Well-being in collaboration with Solidarity Foundation at RR Campus for the students of BSc Psychology on February 2, 2024.
