PES University celebrated the 75th Republic Day in a lively event, bringing together faculty students, and alumni to honor our Indian spirit. The amphitheater served as a collective gathering ground, and the festivities commenced at the brisk hour of 8:30 in the morning, starting with the flag hoisting followed by the singing of the national anthem.

Dr. V. Krishna, the Dean of Student Affairs, guided the event smoothly. Dr. J. Suryaprasad, the Vice-Chancellor of PES University, introduced our chief guest and was also joined by two accomplished alumni, Kalyan Verma and Prateek Khandelwal.

Kalyan Verma, one of the alumni, a passionate wildlife filmmaker and photographer, shared his transformative journey from a mechanical engineer to a wildlife enthusiast. Drawing parallels with the relatable narrative of "3 Idiots," he painted a vivid picture of his path, marked by determination and resilience. Prateek Khandelwal, Founder of RampMyCity, added a unique perspective by recounting how a life-altering incident spurred him to launch an accessibility startup, confronting and overcoming life's challenges.

Prof. D. Jawahar, the Pro-Chancellor, took center stage to articulate PES University's vision for quality education and inclusivity, emphasizing plans to create a disability-friendly campus.

The event concluded on a warm note with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks from Dr. K. S.  Sridhar, the Registrar.

Cultural elements brought the celebration to life, with students singing patriotic songs like "Ae Watan" and "Vande Mataram." The atmosphere buzzed with patriotism, reaching its peak with an engaging performance by the performing arts students. The day closed with breakfast at GJBC, leaving everyone feeling proud of their Indian identity. The Republic Day celebration at PES University was more than just an event; it was a vivid display of shared heritage and the strong spirit that ties us together as a nation.
