PES University organized the HR Tech Summit on the 18th of January 2024 on its campus. The summit focused on fostering collaborative change between industry and academia to effectively manage human resources in the evolving technology landscape.
In his opening address, Pro-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Jawahar Doreswamy, recounted PES University's remarkable journey in placements over the years, starting with just 7 recruiting companies that visited the campus in the initial days of the university with more than 500 companies visiting every year. He mentioned his learning from several HR professionals over the years and emphasized the university's commitment to shaping students into a high-quality workforce through a carefully crafted curriculum.
The keynote address was delivered by Alok Sinha, CEO of Ipaza Labs, who highlighted the outstanding caliber of PES University students. He urged the students to grab opportunities that come their way through hard work. The speaker sessions involved insightful discussions on positioning HR professionals as the conscience and doctors of an organization empowered in decision-making to balance priorities against dynamic technology advancements. They emphasized the responsibility of HR to change the trajectory of the new generation and help them realize their true potential.
The summit served as a platform for leading HR experts, industry professionals, academicians, and policymakers to exchange ideas on how to develop future-ready human capital. The key highlights of the conclave included panel discussions on topics such as diversity and inclusion, the gig economy, analytics in HR, and building sustainable leadership pipelines.
