Develop For Her 3.0 ideathon

Develop For Her was an empowering exploration into innovation, creativity and collaboration that provided a lively platform for students to brainstorm and come up with inventive solutions. This ideathon went beyond traditional boundaries, by not restricting the participants to create a prototype with code but create a prototype via non-code platforms like canva, figma or prepare a physical prototype/BMC ideate, which acts as a solution for challenges specifically faced by women. The event was a medium for introducing participants to ideals of ACM-W, the world of technology and innovation, and the vibrant community of like-minded individuals.The culmination of Develop For Her marked not only the achievement of innovative prototypes but also the beginning of a journey where participants embraced their roles as contributors to positive societal change. It was particularly heartwarming to witness the active participation of both girls and boys of both technical and non-technical streams collaborating in a nurturing environment without any barriers, as they collectively delved into introspecting on the various problems faced by women in society. The event's themes, upon which participants were required to formulate solutions, had been communicated in advance. With this information at hand, participants enthusiastically commenced their ideation process. Armed with the knowledge of the themes, they delved into creative brainstorming sessions, each team exploring innovative solutions that aligned with the designated themes. The mentors and event volunteers remained consistently available, ready to assist participants and ensure a smooth workflow without any hindrances. The event was powered by PVL, all participants would be allowed to take their ideas forward under the guidance of the college's entrepreneurship club PVL. Special guest Ananya Mungara, founder of Smart Chakra, inspired the participants with her empowering speech, motivating them to transform their ideas into entrepreneurial ventures. Following the initial ideation session, in the first review participants presented an analysis of their selected problem statement and articulated the solutions they were proposing. The primary goal of the first review was to ensure that participants were on the right track with their solutions and to provide an opportunity for improvement based on constructive inputs from the mentors. After the first review, they were given the opportunity to build a feasible prototype and top 10 solutions qualified for the next round. Based on evaluation of  the final pitches and detailed explanations by the jury of Prof K.S Srinivas, Prof Preet Kanwal and Mr Suresh Narasimha declared the winners: Team A&K of Aashika A and A R Keerthana, Team 911 of Rahul Jaikrishna, Rishi D V and Manit Bohra and Team amitabh bachchan of Shraddha Rao, Shrujanna M and Spurthi Raghothama. The ideathon DevelopForHer 3.0 was organized by ACM-W Chapter PESU, RR Campus on November 18, 2023 at RR campus.
