Finance hackathon

The 12 hour finance hackathon curated a real time experience on how to handle the shares of a company. Guest speaker, Mrs. Meena Shashikanth introduced the students to the working of  stock market and tips on managing finance operations. The hackathon consisted of two rounds: Acquisition Arena and Forex Fraud. In the Acquisition Arena round, the top ten teams were allotted conglomerates and 25 teams were allotted small companies. The teams bought and sold shares among themselves. The ten conglomerates evaluated the small companies and came up with a plan in order to convince them to acquire their companies and diversify their portfolios. The teams presented the reasons behind acquiring the small companies. The team with the highest market share and cash in hand was declared winner. The Forex Fraud round consisted of seven currencies and five brokers. The teams went to each broker to buy or sell currencies. The currency prices would fluctuate. Out of five brokers there were two undisclosed scammers. All the transactions regarding that particular broker were considered invalid after the reveal of the scammers. The team’s main objective was to make profits and use the insights to analyze the potential currency gainers and losers. The top three teams that had the highest profits were declared winners. Winners in Small Companies category in Acquisition Arena round: 1st place: Team: Hedging Bulls of Aditya M, Akarsh Anand, Nishad Fardeen, Pujit Reddy, Yash Tiwari, Rahul K. 2nd place: Team: Mega Bytes of Smrithi V, Nayana N, Keertana K, T. Shivani, Rishitha SR, Aathmika P.; 3rd place: Team: Big Bulls of Gagan Kumar, Dinaram Choudhary, Guransh Singh Manjanda, Medini Bhat, Hithashree K, Diya Chokeda. Winners of Forex Fraud round: 1st place: Team: 30 of Omkar Baddela, Ansar A, Neeraj N, Bakhir Ali, Sai Prasad L, Hithesh Kumar Reddy N; 2nd place: Team: Brothers of destruction of Akarsh Shetty, Omkar S Sirse, Mohith K, Basavaraj S, Vithal K Nevarekar. 3rd place: Team: Bhupendra Jogi of Krishna, Mohith,. Tej, Kushal, Manab, Sai Arav Reddy. Tradestor 2.0 finance hackathon was organized by The Money Wagon, Finance Club of the department of BBA Analytics on November 2, 2023 at RR campus.
