Radio jockeys need to be knowledgeable, enthusiastic and amusing in their unique ways to engage listeners and draw active responses. The mock RJ battle provided a glimpse into the world of radio jockeys and introduced the skills that bring their craft to life. Participants were paired up for one-on-one interview sessions. Each pair grappled with intriguing topics and participants played the roles of an RJ and interviewees alternatively. The second round replicated a toll-free call, as on a radio show which tested linguistic fluency and quick repartee. The finale featured just a minute game and improv exercise in which participants divided into two teams in a round-robin format improvised on stage and spontaneously acted out a given scenario. The judges scrutinized their quick thinking, on-the-spot creativity, and adaptability and declared K S Kaveri as the winner and Pranav S Nair as the runner up. Phani Sreevatsa regaled the audience with a standup comedy act on the occasion. RJ Battles was organized by Minerva, the media and mass communications club of PES University at TDM studio on September 13, 2023
