The Eighth annual convocation of various engineering branches, management, and post-graduation courses was held today at the PES University campus. Prof. D. Jawahar, Pro-Chancellor of PES University and Chief Executive Officer of PES Institutions presided over the function and awarded degrees to the students. Shri Srini Rajam, Co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ITTIAM Systems was the chief and delivered the convocation address. Shri Srini Rajam congratulated all young graduates for receiving their graduation certificates and motivated them with eight factors that can change their journey from ordinary beings to extraordinary achievers. He said that some of these factors are time tested, where the long-term vision matters more than the short-term succeeding factors. He emphasized the fact that learning, which is not limited to academics but involves improving oneself. Success in learning is learning from mistakes. Mr. Rajam noted that the corporate world emphasizes working as a team and readiness to seek help from others as well as helping others. He appealed to young graduates that they need to focus on creating, making, and marketing the ideas within their motherland.
Prof. D. Jawahar, Pro-Chancellor of PES University, in his presidential address, congratulated the graduating students. Prof. D. Jawahar remembered the motivational talks of the honorable Chancellor of PES University Dr. M. R. Doreswamy to young graduates and said those words of Dr. Doreswamy. He said students need to dream big and advised them to work hard to achieve those dreams. He pointed that at PES, students are learning technical courses along with human needs that also include spiritual and social needs. He pointed out that students have the responsibility to show their love for their country, compassion to others, being social leaders, and as global citizens in their careers. Prof. D. Jawahar emphasized actualizing the self-realization through being joyous, approachable, generous, and optimistic in their journey of life.
Vice Chancellor of PES University Dr. J. Surya Prasad welcomed the dignitaries and audiences. Prof. D. Jawahar, Pro-Chancellor of PES University unveiled the scroll of honor and presented the oath to passing out graduates and Dr. K.S. Sridhar, Registrar rendered the vote of thanks. 3986 students received their degree, including 12 Ph.D awardees and 21 gold medalists in the ceremony.
