Aspire to build the nation: Prof. M R Doreswamy

Inauguration of the First Year classes for B.Tech and B.Arch programs of PES University was inaugurated on Aug 26 2023. Sri Ashok Bhat, Senior Product Manager, ARM-Cloud and HPC Software, alumnus of PES Institute of Technology was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, Sri Ashok Bhat said that there is a huge mismatch in the engineers India is producing, and skilled engineers, who can solve the specific global problems that have been required by the corporate world. Mr. Bhat advised students to refrain from getting into any habits and focus on learning the skills required. In his presidential address, Dr. M.R. Doreswamy, Chancellor of PES University said that the students must aspire to build the nation with their knowledge and skills. He said that any education without values is of no help. PES has kept up its commitment to providing quality and value-based education. He advised students to have Bharata Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya and Dr. Abdul Kalam as role models in their lives. He also mentioned that PES University has included Sir M. Visvesvaraya's biography as a topic of study for all students. He advised students to adopt the practice of giving back to society and insisted on following the principles of "care and share" in their lives. He acknowledged the role of enthusiastic parents and suggested that they keep the connection with the University till their ward has accomplished the objective of being in the institution. He said that all of us should be proud of India’s achievement of Chandrayan-3 and requested the audience to applaud the country by standing up for the scientists for their unstinting devotion and dedication for the success of Chandrayan-3. Dr. J. Surya Prasad, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Ajoy Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of the University were on the occasion. Dr. K.S Sridhar, the Registrar of the University proposed the welcome address and Dr. Lata Pasupulati, Chairperson of the Department of Science and Humanities rendered the vote of thanks. Prof. CNR and Prof. MRD merit scholarships were presented to meritorious students by the dignitaries. Prof. D. Jawahar, Pro-Chancellor of PES University held an orientation session for all the first-year students highlighting important information about the University and the practices students need to follow to become successful in their lives.
