PES University organised a one-day hackathon Anveshana for students of government schools adopted by the University held on Saturday, November 19. The event was conceived, planned and conducted by Team SHUNYA – a student-run Math club of PES University.

Dr. M R Doreswamy, Chancellor of the university inaugurated the event. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Doreswamy said that he was extremely happy that the young kids were given an opportunity to think differently and find solutions to the problems given to them through the hackathon. He said that such events will enable the youth to find a way to tackle problems faced by major metropolitan cities like Bengaluru, Pune, and other cities such as pollution, traffic, garbage disposal, and many more.

He advised the students to do well in academics and acquire higher Degrees. He appreciated the students of the university not only for organising the event but also giving the kids problems related to Healthcare, Agriculture, and Environment related issues to work upon in the hackathon. Over 200 students from the schools actively participated in the event. The winners were awarded attractive prizes.
