PES University organised the Annual Samarpana 2022

PES University organised the Annual Samarpana 2022 event held on the 15th of November, 2022 in the university campus to felicitate the sacrifices made by Bravehearts and the difficulties experienced by the warriors who defend our country.

The families of 23 Bravehearts were invited to this gathering. An entire day of heartfelt programs were organised and every family was felicitated by the management of PES University.

The lighting of the lamp by our esteemed guests marked the start of this auspicious event. The chief guest for the occasion was Padmashri A S Kiran Kumar, Indian space scientist and Former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation. Addressing the gathering he said that events like these tremind people of the sacrifices that our defence forces make for the benefit of the civilians. Today, we can live our lives comfortably because there is always someone at the borders protecting us.

Also present at this event was Mrs. Shakuntala Bhandarkar; educator, social entrepreneur, Founder Director of Metamorphes Foundation, and author - ‘Saga of a Braveheart’.

This was followed by the introduction of the Bravehearts. Their family members were then felicitated with shawls, momentos, and Rs 20,000.

The various student clubs of PES University showcased their talents in the several performances that were lined up to bring some ‘Josh’ to the event. A classical dance performance, a tabla and sitar recital, a dance performance by team Sanskrithi, and a musical performance by Yash Omkar were some of them.

‘The Saga of a Braveheart’, curated by Maya Films, based on Mr. Ajit Bhandarkar’s biography was screened. This documentary truly sparked the spirit of patriotism and touched the hearts of everyone sitting in the audience.

The event was also graced by the presence of Dr. J. Surya Prasad, Vice Chancellor, PES University, Dr. K.S. Sridhar, Registrar, PES University, Dr. V. Krishna, Dean, Student Affairs, PES University, and Dr. B.K. Keshavan, Dean of Engineering, PES University.
