On the 2nd of October, PES University celebrated the 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji and the 118th birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastriji. Mahatma Gandhiji, a political ethicist, nationalist, and lawyer, initiated the Satyagraha and the Ahimsa movement when India was still under the clasp of British rule. Lal Bahadur Shastriji was India’s second Prime Minister and is one of the greatest Indian leaders who continue to inspire today’s generation. He promoted the White Revolution and the Green Revolution which truly empowered the citizens of India.
Smarananjali witnessed soulful renditions of famous Bhajans and Hymns by the students of the Music Club of PES University, mentored by the Department of Performing Arts. There were also enlightening speeches given by students of PES HN Campus.
With the entire campus immersed in the spirit of patriotism, this event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. J. Surya Prasad, Vice Chancellor, PES University, Dr. K. S. Sridhar, Registrar, PES University, Dr. V. Krishna, Dean, Student Affairs, PES University, Prof. M. V. Sathyanarayana, Director, PES HN Campus, Dr. C. Narayana Reddy, Principal, PES PU College, and Prof. H. N. Devaraju, Principal, PES Polytechnic with the enthusiastic participation of faculty and students.
