On the 30th of July, 2022, the Golden Jubilee celebrations of PES University commenced with the gathering of all the alums and the faculty of the university, in what was the first offline event of the celebrations. A concert “Retro to Metro” was held, featuring a delightful collection of retro hits and modern ones performed by the students. The event was initiated by addresses to the attendees by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. V. Krishna, the Pro-Chancellor Prof D. Jawahar, and the Dean, FOMC.

The pro-chancellor welcomed everyone present and congratulated the alumni on their current positions and accomplishments. He also discussed their goals for the significant event scheduled for July 2023 and gave the alumni a warm welcome to all of the upcoming events.

We invited alumni from the 1992 batch and onward, as well as Professor D. Jawahar and the Dean, FOMC, for the cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate and officially inaugurate the event.

The event also saw impressive presentations by the students of the university which included musical acts in different forms including Carnatic and western, as well as dance performances comprising of individuals and teams, representing the institution in their respective fields. The evening also featured performances by alumni who have achieved success in music and the performing arts.

The university also announced two new curriculums for the new academic year, including psychology and a school of performing arts. The event concluded with the exchange of experiences and memories by the alums, reminiscent of their time spent within the walls of the classrooms and the gates of the campus. The momentous celebration came to the conclusion of its first installment with a promise of many more to come and the anticipation of increased participation and a larger network of alums joining for another successful event in the future.

The Dean of FOMC encouraged the alumni to participate in the 50 Golden Awards nomination process by using the alumni website's registration link, and also asked them to follow alumni engagements on social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Register on https://alumni.pes.edu/ or mail at alumni.office@pes.edu.

We would like to express our gratitude to our Alumni for their enthusiastic participation, without which the event would not have ended up being such a huge success.
