Tensor 2.0 Datathon

The event tested the interest and understanding of the concepts in Data Science and Machine Learning. It consisted of two tracks, the Beginner's Track aimed at introducing freshers of PES to the fast developing fields. The Competitive Track was open to all undergrad students and required skills such as finding the right data, analyzing and understanding it and applying the insights to formulate a conclusion. The problem statements for both tracks were focused on the Global themes of Climate Change and Homicide Prevention. The event also featured guest talk by Miss Usha Rengaraju, the first Woman Kaggle 2x Grandmaster and introductory workshop conducted by Spoorthi UK, third year student. The competitive track was won by team Doge of Hrishikesh Nair, Kaushal Mahajan and Jacob Bosco. Team The Heavy of Srinivasa Raghavan, Jaaswin Kotian and Vihar Devalla and team Blank of Amrit R, Ananth K and Vritika Tuteja won second and third places. The beginner’s track was won by team Hackya of Dhruv Chawla, Aryansh Bhargavan and Aryan VS. Team Trojans on adrenaline of Arnav Kumar, Md Taseen Atehar and Ayush Praveen and team n00bs of Aadithya Krishna Vamshi V and Bhargav Hegde won second and third places. The panel of judges included Nikhil Mishra, Data scientist at fintech Industry, Aniruddha Mysore, Low latency developer at Morgan Stanley, Pranav Manjunath, data science graduate from Duke University and Adish Rao, software engineer at Bosch, all of whom are PES alumni. Tensor 2.0 Datathon was presented by the collaborative effort of the four tech clubs of PESUECC, Techwarts, OnCreate, DSC and ACM. The workshop for beginners was live-streamed on YouTube on February 28, the main event on Devpost + Discord + GMeet and guest talk on MS Teams were held on March 7, 2021.
