At the outset, RSAT – A micro satellite designed by PES University that is one among the 18 Co-passenger Satellite in the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C51) lifted off from the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR), at around 10.24 am.

Dr M R Doreswamy, Chancellor, PES University has congratulated all the mentors and students involved in designing the RSAT satellite on its successful launch. Further he said “I wholeheartedly applaud and appreciate the tremendous accomplishments and contributions of our Students and Faculty team led by Dr Sambhasiva Rao and Dr Nagendra in designing this RSAT”. I would like to draw all your attention that “It is coincidental that the launch of RSAT has been done on National Science Day and is it very rare to get such a memorable day for the launch.”

RSAT designed by PES University is officially named as Sindhunetra, an Indian technology demonstration satellite funded by Defence Research Development Organisation's (DRDO) research centre Imarat, Hyderabad to identify suspicious ships. It is considered as one of the important ships of PSLV. Sindhu Netra (RSAT) was injected successfully and signals were received from Sindhu Netra and Satellite is in good health. Till now Satellite is doing well and RSAT team of PES University is monitoring and controlling the Satellite.
