Workshop on Techniques in Experimental Pharmacology held

The workshop and hands-on program trained the faculty members, research scholars and post graduate students in various techniques and skills involved in the preclinical experimental Pharmacology. Close to thirty shortlisted delegates of various disciplines across state of Karnataka attended and acquired the skills in the experimental techniques. Chief Guests, Prof Dr. V Murugan, Dean, Dayanandasagar University and Dr. HN Shivaprasad, Technical and Marketing Director, Prakruti Products Pvt Ltd emphasised the importance of preclinical research in Drug Development and asked the delegates to utilise the opportunity to upgrade their skills. The program was presided over by Dr. S. Mohan, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences with the gracious presence Prof Dr. J Saravanan, DCC, PES University. Dr. S. Mohan, in his presidential address stressed on the significance of practical skills for post-graduate students of pharmacology, essential in the field of introduction of new medicines for which pre clinical studies are a prerequisite. He asked the students to develop interest in deep learning with a passion to excel. The workshop cum hands-on training program on Techniques in Experimental Pharmacology was convened by Dr. Shivalinge Gowda, Head of the Department. The workshop was organised by the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, HN Campus, PES University, Bangalore on December 19, 2019.
