National Pharmacists Week is celebrated to highlight the pivotal role pharmacists play in the healthcare system. Students of pharmacy program undertook various activities based on the theme of pharmacists’ role in patient’s safety and efficacy of medicine. The students participated in a rally urging the citizens to avoid excess use of antibiotics and adapt a healthier lifestyle. The placards in English and Kannada carried catchy messages like: The Best and Most Efficient Pharmacy Is Within Our Own System and Get High on Life and Not Drugs, to quote a few. The event acknowledged the invaluable contributions of pharmacists in hospitals, outpatient clinics and other health care settings. The National Pharmacy Week was organised by department of pharmacy practice of PES University from Oct 21-26, 2019.
